Security beefed up

Security has been tightened in Chennai following an intelligence alert about the intrusion of suspected Lashkar operatives into Tamil Nadu.

City Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan said on Friday: “An alert on infiltration of terrorists has been received. We have taken all precautionary steps, intensified patrolling, and are continuing searches with more vigil. We have activated a storming operation and other activities to ensure no untoward incident occurs.”
