Hema Latha, wife of V. Divaharan, brother of Sasikala, former aide of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, appeared before the police at the Nidamangalam station for interrogation on Wednesday. She appeared before Manivannan, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nagapattinam, who is heading a special team to nab Divaharan in connection with a house demolition case.

Hemalatha gave a petition to the police stating that she received the summons to appear before the police along with her children Jaya Anand and Raja Madhanki at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

As her children were not in Mannargudi and studying in a place away from the town, she was not able to produce them. She promised to bring her children on February 5.

In another petition, she stated that the house of Kasthuri of Rishiyur, which was demolished on November 28, 2011 was on Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department land and Divaharan had no connection with the demolition.
