PMK leader S. Ramadoss on Saturday took exception to the screening of Dharmam Vellum, a documentary film celebrating the acquittal of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case in cinemas in Tamil Nadu.
“How can the State government allow it when the Supreme Court had already admitted the petition challenging her acquittal by the Karnataka High Court,” Dr Ramadoss said in a statement.
The PMK leader said that in a way the film was actually against the State government because the case was filed against her by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) functioning under the State government.
“ The screening of the film is condemnable because it highlights a personal problem of the Chief Minister. There are innumerable social issues that need to be highlighted,” he said.
