‘LG, CM tug of war leaves budget session hanging’

The Puducherry unit of the AIADMK on Tuesday said the tug of war between Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy has reached a stage where a cloud of uncertainty shrouded the annual budget presentation.

Addressing a press conference, legislative head of the party A. Anbazhagan said the government had not convened the preparatory meeting due to differences of opinion between the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister.

Normally, the meeting would be convened early March to discuss the annual budget. In all probability, the government would present only an interim budget. The Congress while in Opposition was highly critical of the ruling government for presenting a series of vote on account budgets, Mr. Anbazhagan said.
