CMDA seals two buildings for violations

A building each in Chromepet and Anna Nagar were sealed

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority on Friday sealed two buildings for violations.

According to a release, a building with New Door No.133, Old No.161, GST Road, Chromepet, was locked and sealed as the owner had constructed a “commercial building comprising stilt plus four floors” after obtaining planning permission for constructing an office-cum-residential building with stilt floor plus ground and first floors (residential). The building was sealed under the provisions of Sections 56 and 57 of Town and Country Planning Act 1971 as it had violations pertaining to set backs, ramp and street alignment.

Another release said a building on Plot number 3362-Z, AF Block, 8th Street, Anna Nagar, was sealed as it was in contravention to the approved plan of ground floor plus first floor with two residential dwelling units. The owner had constructed a commercial building with ground floor and three floors with violations.
