Teen loses testicle after thrashing

December 10, 2014 12:53 am | Updated 12:53 am IST - Bengaluru:

A 14-year-old was allegedly beaten up at the government-run home for boys on Hosur Road last week. The injuries were so gruesome that a part of his testicle had to be removed.

A source said, “The boy does not know who beat him up because the power went off.”

He is undergoing treatment at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. A source in the hospital said that he is likely to be discharged on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Patil said that no case has been registered, as nobody had come forward with a complaint. However, he was quick to add that he would visit the boy’s home and the hospital on Wednesday, and would take suo moto action if no complaint is lodged.

Earlier in August, the home was in the news after a caretaker thrashed a 13-year-old inmate.
