Members of the North-East Association staged a protest outside Indiranagar Police Station against the alleged sexual assault of a three-year-old in a school in Indiranagar on Monday.

The protestors were shown the CCTV footage of the school which they refuted saying that sexual assault of this nature would not have happened in a public place.

Representatives the Students’ Association said that Police officials forced the crowd to disperse. They demanded to know as to why the three-year-old girl was kept at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital from 2 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. The protestors are now moving to Freedom Park.

Sources said that a few of the protestors were taken into custody for protesting without permission but they will be released soon.

One girl of the detained protestors, Elena said that under POCSO, the identity of the school cannot be revealed, but they were protesting right outside the school. She, and others, were detained as a scuffle broke out when Police officials tried to disperse the crowd.
