Pedestrian fatally knocked down by two-wheeler

A 53-year-old pedestrian was fatally knocked down by a speeding two-wheeler near Dasarahalli Main Road in Peenya on Wednesday night.

The police identified the victim as Muniraju, a resident of Dasarahalli and owner of a roadside eatery near his house. Around 11.30 p.m., he was crossing the road to return home when the mishap took place. Muniraju sustained severe head injuries. The two-wheeler rider, Tribhuvan, an employee of a lathe machine workshop, was also injured in the mishap. He has been admitted to a private hospital. A case has been registered in Peenya police station.
