At the first-ever counselling being held for the recently introduced four-year Bachelor of Science course, all seats in Bangalore University, and those in its affiliate colleges, being offered under the university quota, were filled on day one.
In addition to Central College, this course will now be taught at K.L.E. College, National College, MLA College in Malleswaram and Kristu Jayanthi College. Several students who had done exceedingly well in their PUC exams have applied for this new course. Medha Shekar, a Delhi Public School alumnus who scored 95 per cent in her CBSE, was the first applicant to bag her seat for the academic year at Jnana Jyothi Central College (JJCC). “I'm more interested in pure science and research than in engineering. That's why I chose this course,” she said.
Rahul, who scored 83.2 per cent in his board exam, says he sees himself in a research career. “My first option was Indian Institute of Science but as I could not get in there, I decided to do it here,” he said.
