S.S. Srinivas, a 1990-batch Indian Railway Personnel Service officer, took charge as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the newly announced South Coast Railway zone, in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

Priorities

The Union Ministry of Railways has assigned the task of planning and preparatory work for the formation of the new railway zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam.

Listing out his priorities, S.S. Srinivas said he would focus on the survey of existing infrastructure, requirement of land acquisition, and preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) on additional needs and the blue print for smooth transition of the staff into the new zone.

In his career spanning over two-and-a-half decades, Mr. Srinivas has held several key positions across five railway zones, a production unit, and at the National Academy of Indian Railways. His key professional interests include employee welfare, negotiations, transformation and change management, a statement issued by Waltair division Senior Divisional Manager G. Suneel Kumar said.

Mr. Srinivas’s prior experience of handling change management and formation of two new railway zones of South Western Railway and East Coast Railway, as well as setting up of the RRC at Bhubaneswar would prove valuable in his current assignment, the statement added.
