‘Prepare health cards for students’

Biometric attendance system should be introduced in all municipal schools by October and health cards prepared for students with focus on anaemia, skin diseases and tooth disorders, Municipal Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan has said.

Addressing a meeting of headmasters of municipal schools on Friday, he said awareness on career development should be created among students.

Additional Commissioner (Finance) S.S. Varma said ₹ 11.08 crore was spent on improving facilities in 136 schools. Repairs were carried out and a fresh coat of paint was given to the schools and toilets provided. Besides, dual desks, uniforms and books, among other things, were provided to students.

A total of 21211 students are studying in 147 schools.
