Awareness meet on child labour

Representatives of various NGOs and officials will organise a parents’ meeting at Vambay Colony on the city outskirts on Monday, to highlight the need to educate children.

Assistant Commissioner of Labour (ACL) D. Anjaneya Reddy, who is also National Child Labour Project (NCLP) Krishna district Project Director, said as part of the week-long programmes being organised in connection with Anti-Child Labour Day, BIRDS and World Vision and various government departments will elucidate on the Right to Education Act.

Officials from Women Development and Child Welfare and Police Departments will participate in the programme, said Mr. Reddy.
