Holy processions, lecturers and discourses marked the Sri Ramakrishnar and Sri Annai Saradadevi jayanthi and platinum jubilee celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Thapovanam at Tiruparaithurai near here on Sunday.

Delivering a special lecture on the occasion, R. Madhu, traced the wisdom and boundless kindness which formed the rare gift for Sri Annai Saradadevi.

Citing verses, he said that people should follow the principles of Sri Annai Saradadevi which centred around the surrender to Almighty.

Swamy Sathyanand delivered the valedictory address and traced the contribution made by Sri Ramakrishnar to both spiritual uplift and social development. The Ramakrishna Thapovanam celebrated its platinum jubilee celebrations and had been strictly adhering to the principles codified by Sri Ramakrishnar. Visalakshi spoke on the values taught by Sri Ramakrishnar and Sri Annai Saradadevi.

S. Ramamurthy delivered the valedictory address.

Hemamalini Govindaraj inaugurated the celebrations. Earlier, a ‘rath’ with portrait of Sri Annai Saradadevi was taken out.
