NCC cadets of Tiruchi Group who took part in the Republic Day camp 2013 held in New Delhi recently were honoured at a function held here on Monday.
A total number of 35 cadets of Tiruchi Group represented the Tamil Nadu NCC Directorate in the Republic Day Camp.
This is the first time that maximum representation in the Tamil Nadu NCC contingent was from the Tiruchi Group.
Cadets who took part in the Thal Sainik camp, national level para jumping camp, desert safari camp, All India shooting camp and Vayu Sainik Camp were also honoured on the occasion.
The Group Commander, NCC Group, Tiruchi Colonel Ved Nayagam appreciated the cadets for their performance in all activities.
He thanked the State government for its support and encouragement to the NCC.
The Principal, Bishop Heber College, D. Paul Dhayabaran, lauded the cadets for their achievements at the state and all-India levels.
The 2 TN Battalion NCC, Tiruchi, was declared champion among the major unit and was presented with the Group Commander Banner on the occasion.
The 3 TN Air Squadron Tiruchi was the champion in the minor unit.
