3.31 lakh head of cattle to be vaccinated against FMD

An estimated 3.31 lakh head of cattle would be vaccinated against the foot-and-mouth disease during the eight round of vaccination to be conducted across the district from March 1 to 21, District Collector K.S.Palanisamy said.

Animal Husbandry Department officials would carry out the vaccination from 6 to 9 in the mornings and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The camps will be conducted by the department in coordination with the Rural Development Department and local bodies, he said in a release.
