National award for child rights panel

The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has received a national award instituted by the international organisation Save The Children for its contributions to the area of protection of children.

Commission chairperson P. Suresh accepted the award at a function organised at Vijayawada in connection with the centenary celebrations of the organisation. The commission’s novel interventions in the area of child rights protection fetched it the award. Andhra Pradesh commission chairperson G. Haimavathy, Karnataka commission chairperson Antony Sebastian, and UN Global Compact Network director Shabnam Siddiqui were present.
