All-party meet today

April 19, 2012 09:18 am | Updated July 13, 2016 02:10 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

An all-party meeting convened by the Vilappilsala panchayat will be held at the panchayat hall at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, panchayat members had met Ministers Manjalamkuzhi Ali, M.K. Muneer, and V.S. Sivakumar to discuss the possible action following the Supreme Court order on the functioning of the Vilappilsala solid-waste treatment plant.

Mr. Ali said various locations in and around the city were being identified for garbage disposal. The government, he said, wanted to solve the problem of waste management before the start of the monsoon. However, the panchayat members should cooperate with the transportation of clay needed to bury the waste present at the plant, he said.
