Minor girl complains about sexual harassment

The All Women Police in Tirumangalam have booked the Headmaster of a Government high School, Madasamy, under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, following a complaint of sexual harassment lodged by a minor girl, on Friday.

The police said that the Headmaster of the Kallar Reclamation School at Karadikal, reportedly misbehaved with the girl while she visited the staffroom in the recent past.

After her parents complained about the incident, the AWPS registered the case.

The Headmaster is said to be absconding.

Woman robbed of chain at knifepoint

Three unidentified persons robbed a woman of five sovereigns of gold chain at knifepoint at Visalakshipuram on Friday night.

The police said that the woman, R. Meena, of Ahimsapuram was returning home after visiting a relative.

While walking back home at Visalakshipuram, two persons rushed towards her and made her part with her gold chain.

The duo then fled on a motorbike waiting at a distance.

The Tallakulam police are investigating.
