The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is hosting a conference on ‘Beyond Fake News’ on November 12 from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the IIIT Hyderabad in Gachibowli.

The conference will focus on tackling the menace of digital misinformation and what can be done about it. Central Information Commissioner Madabushi Sridhar Acharyulu, IPS officer Rema Rajeshwari, and Rakesh Reddy of Factly.in are among the speakers.

The anti-disinformation drive of the BBC aims to fight fake information that is causing social and political harm and also leading to violence. The conference will also share findings of the BBC research into how and why disinformation is shared. Entry is free, but through registration. Registrations can be done at www.eventbrite.com, a press release said.
