Two persons allegedly stabbed each other at Sun Light Colony in Seemapuri on Sunday morning after a scuffle over disposal of waste from a water pipeline.

The condition of Mohd. Iqbal (34), who was stabbed in the stomach, is said to be critical. The others present at the spot — Shakir (40), Mohammad Gani (60), Imran (32), and siblings Mohd. Shakeel, Mohd. Hashim and Kasim — suffered minor injuries. The police rushed them to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.

According to the police, the jal board had outsourced the task of cleaning a pipeline at the colony and Shakir was the contractor in-charge. He and two others were cleaning the pipeline when they got into an argument with Mohd. Shakeel. The issue escalated after the duo got their relatives involved. The two groups used knives to attack each other, critically injuring Shakir’s elder brother Mohd. Iqbal.
