The holy relics, retrieved from the Dastageer Sahib shrine minutes before it was gutted in a fire incident here on Monday, were displayed on Wednesday to allay apprehensions about any damage caused to them.
Sajada Nasheen (custodian of the shrine) Syed Khalid Geelani displayed the holy relics, which were housed in the shrine named after 11th century preacher Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani, before journalists at his Khanyar residence here.
He said the relics, including a hair strand of the preacher, a copy of hand-written Quran dating back 1,400 years and other manuscripts written by the companions of Prophet Mohammad, were displayed to clear any doubts about their safety.
