Four masked men allegedly burgled a television showroom in west Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh in the early hours of Monday and took LED televisions worth ₹3 to ₹5 lakh, the police said. The incident happened at the store located in A block of Shalimar Bagh.
According to the police, the thieves first tried to break into the showroom using different sets of keys. Next, they used a lock cutter to break in.
Caught on CCTV
The burglary, which was caught on CCTV cameras, shows two men sitting in a car and the others breaking in.
A security guard spotted them trying to break in and called showroom owner Vaibhav Channana, who rushed to the shop. Seeing the guard and the owner, the thieves allegedly fired at them. The guard attacked them with bricks but the robbers managed to flee with a few LED televisions.
‘Police arrived late’
Mr. Channana accused the police of arriving late. “I checked the CCTV and immediately called the police. However, the PCR came 27 minutes later. The thieves had fled with some televisions by then. The thieves were in the shop for an hour,” he said.
