Three arrested, 3,050 pirated CDs/DVDs seized

In a drive conducted against circulation of pirated CDs/DVDs, the city police on Monday raided a residential premises on Vincent Road in Ukkadam and arrested three persons leading to the seizure of 3,050 pirated CDs/DVDs.

Following information about circulation of pirated CDs and DVDs, City Police Commissioner Amaresh Pujari and Deputy Commissioners of Police Hema Karunakaran (Law and Order) and T. Senthilkumar (Crime and Traffic) constituted special teams led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Raja. The teams raided a premises and found the CDs/DVDs of latest films and also five computers and modified CD writers used for taking prints of the movies.

The teams arrested Mohammed Yusuf (38), Kaja Hussain (33) and Zakir Hussain (48) of Vincent Road. A search is on for Mohammed Kasim and Syedna. The trio have been remanded to judicial custody.
