Environmental wellness plays a positive impact in bringing wellness. Right energy and positive flow of energy is must for environmental wellness. If one remains connected to nature and create right flow of energy from nature to work or home, it brings tremendous positivity. Music is the right link between immediate environment, nature and wellness. Soothing music is de learning process and has huge psychological and physiological effects. Scientists can now see via medical imaging some of the changes in the brains of people listening to Music. Music is a very complex stimulus, and the ways it works on us remain largely elusive.

Music, the greatest art of our country and Indian music has quality for its richness and is rooted in nature. Original men found music in nature; he found meaning in the songs of birds and discovered rhythm in the movements of heavenly bodies. Indian music in classical forms is the most ancient form of music and still plays an immense role in our wellness. In fact the first instrument available to man was the human voice which produced primal notes and therefore all manmade instruments imitate or emulate human voice. Basic purpose of music is to stimulate particular emotion or mood called rasa. Each rasa  whether love or hum our or anger or pathos or heroism or terror or disgust or wonder represent one specific color say light green for love and  yellow for wonder. So different rasa brings different coolers to our mood and wellness. Music can bring different colors in our mind and truly reflect different shades of nature. Indian musicologist mentioned two kinds of sounds. The inaudible sound, anahata, nada .Yogis attain liberation by projecting their minds by this un struck sound. The audible sound is ahata nada is struck and gives pleasure. The nada means sound meaning na is breath and da is fire . So music is connected to our supreme sublimation and to our breath.  Ragas are organized melody and kind of resonance between nature, breath and spiritual wellness.

We are using Indian music therapy as medical intervention to treat mood disorders, motivational technique as a rehabilitation tool in our Rehab programme. This is a 65 year old man admitted in our Rehab unit with advanced respiratory failure due to COPD. Using Indian music as an adjuvant to motivate him significantly improved his mind, body and breath. He improved his muscle power and got motivated enough to handle his functions independently and is regularly attending his work place.
