Till now, we’ve only heard of dual roles. And occasionally of people playing even up to 10 roles. However, ‘Powerstar’ Srinivasan claims he has 10-and-a-half roles in an upcoming film. He explains, “In Summa Nachunu Irukku, directed by A. Venkatesh, I play more than 10 roles in the song ‘Ninaithadhai Mudippavan Naan Naan’. The last one is that of a baby — in fact, it’s graphics that brings together my face and a baby’s body. So, it’s just half a role, is it not?” The film is produced by Estell Enthertainers.
V for victory?
Here’s another actor getting into production — Vijay Vasanth. His production company Triple ‘V’ Records has almost completed two films simultaneously. Explaining the V factor, Vijay says, “V for victory. And not just that, my father’s name is Vasanth Kumar, my brother’s, Vinoth Kumar and I’m Vijay. So, Triple V! We just completed the rom-com Theriyaama Unnai Kaadhalichutten, directed by Siva. The cast includes new-find Rasna, ‘Nizhalgal’ Ravi and Uma Padmanabhan. The other film Ennamo Nadakkudhu is an action comedy. It has Prabhu, Rahman, Thambi Ramaiah, Sukanya and Saranya. It is directed by Rajapandi and the music is scored by Premji. I feature in both the films.”
Score up
Director Mysskin must be thrilled. Though Ilaiyaraaja has, of late, been choosy about the projects he takes up, the maestro has agreed to score the music for Mysskin’s next, Onaaiyum Aatukuttiyum. It may be recalled that the music director had also composed the scores for the director’s earlier film Nandalala. Incidentally, Mysskin’s latest film is being produced by his own banner.
