Two taken into custody for dumping cattle carcasses

The Guntur police took two persons into custody for allegedly dumping carcasses of buffaloes and cows at Bandulapalem in Epuru mandal in the district on Wednesday.

According to the villagers, some unidentified persons unloaded huge quantity of remains of cattle on the village outskirts. Locals noticed heaps of carcasses of cattle.

The villagers caught two persons when they were trying to dump the cattle remains brought in another lorry.

On information, police took the lorry and other person into custody. The accused brought the cattle remains from Hyderabad and were abandoning them carcases causing inconvenience, the villagers complained to the police.

“We registered a case and took up investigation,” said Epuru SI Ujjwal Kumar.
