Q4 net up by 21 %

On the basis of consolidated interim financial statements released by Wipro, the net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2010, has increased to Rs. 1,236.10 crore from Rs. 1,010.20 crore. IT Services Revenue in constant currency was $1,180 million, with a sequential increase of 4.7%. On a year-on-year basis, the constant currency revenue increase was 7.8%.

Of the total revenues earned, the share of IT services was Rs. 5,262.90 crore (Rs. 4,932.30 crore), IT products Rs. 887.10 crore (Rs. 860.80 crore), consumer care and lighting Rs. 643.40 crore (Rs. 516.40 crore) and others Rs. 248.10 crore (Rs. 146.90 crore).

As of March 31, 2010, the company has recognised losses of Rs. 495.40 crore against Rs. 1,688.60 crore at the end of March 31, 2009. It has also recognised gain/loss of Rs. 67.60 crore and Rs. 264.20 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010, respectively, against Rs. 83.30 crore and Rs. 441 crore relating to the derivative financial instruments in translation reserve in the shareholders' funds.
