Hindustan Motors managerial staff at Uttarpara gets pink slips

June 05, 2014 11:43 pm | Updated May 23, 2016 06:37 pm IST - KOLKATA:

Hindustan Motors (HM) is reported to have issued `termination notices’ to its management cadre employees at the Uttarpara unit.

The latest development was confirmed by at least two persons in the know of things. It was learnt that such letters had been issued to around 250 people in the manager and executive cadre of the company. “This comprises bulk of the personnel in this category at Uttarpara,” a source said.

Efforts to get the HM management’s response to this development proved futile as calls went unanswered. E-mails sent in this regard did not elicit required response.

The letter said that all dues up to May 31 would be paid to the employees. The decision, according to the letter, was being taken as the company was unable to maintain production at the unit.
