In spite of completion of the auspicious Karthika masam festivities, the rush of devotees continued to swell at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada of Karimnagar district on Monday.
Monday being auspicious day for Lord Shiva, the pilgrims rush choked the temple town with all the streets being filled with devotees.
The pilgrims formed serpentine queues for the darshan of the presiding deities. It took the pilgrims more than five hours for the darshan following the heavy rush. Temple authorities also cancelled the special abhishekhams and other rituals in view of heavy rush, and allowed smooth darshan for the devotees.
Temple EO D. Rajeshwar, along with the temple authorities, inspected the temple premises to ensure smooth darshan for the pilgrims. They had reduced the VIP darshan to ensure that the common man could perform the darshan easily without hindrances. He also motivated the pilgrims not to use plastic at the temple shrine.
