Five girls consume poisonous seeds

VIRUDHUNAGAR

Five girl students of Government Higher Secondary School at Sundarpandiam on Tuesday consumed poisonous seeds after a teacher scolded them for turning up at the school on a holiday for them.

The girls, all studying class IX, were living in the nearby residential area. When the woman teacher scolded them and asked them to go home and prepare for examinations, they plucked the seeds from a poisonous plant and consumed them.

After sometime, they returned to the school and told a physical eduation teacher that they had consumed the poisonous seeds. The teacher immediately rushed them to Watrap Government Hospital. Their condition is said to be safe.
