NSS awards announced

Two college professors have been adjudged the best National Service Scheme (NSS) programme officers under Kannur University.

M. Ratnakara of Kasaragod Government College and P.P. Raghunath of St. Pius X College at Rajapuram here were selected for the best NSS programme officer awards 2010-11. NSS units 3 and 8 respectively of these colleges were adjudged the best NSS units under the university, according to a press release issued by the university here on Saturday.

Muhammad Suhail of Sir Syed College, Taliparamba; Umar Farooque and Saranya M of Kasargod Government College and Shana Abdurrahman of Chinmaya Arts and Science College, Chala, were adjudged the best NSS volunteers.

The awards were decided by a panel headed by Vice-Chancellor P.K. Michael Tharakan.
