Nepal earthquake: 31 people to reach Bengaluru on Thursday

The tourists will leave for Bengaluru in Sanghamithra Express at 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday night and are scheduled to reach Bengaluru at 8.30 p.m. on April 30.

31 people hailing from Bengaluru, Tumakuru and Chickballpur districts, who were on a trip to Nepal, are safe and returning to Bengaluru on Thursday (April 30).

The people, who were stranded in Nepal, were on a tour organised by Veerabhadreshwara Package Tours of Kalenahalli, when the massive earthquake hit the country on April 25 (Saturday). They are currently in Varanasi.

Organiser of the tour, K.R. Renukaprasad told The Hindu , “All the 31 members are safe and will reach Bengaluru by train on the night of April 30”.

He said that they left Sunoli, Nepal on the morning of April 27 in a local bus and reached Varanasi.

The team consisting six people from Bengaluru city, two from Gowribidnur in Chickballapur and four from Tumakuru and 19 from various places such as Nelamangala, Dabaspet in Bengaluru Rural district left for the tour on April 15. The package tour was organised by Veerabhadraswamy Package Tour was led by Mr. Renukaprasad.

They were waiting for their turn to go to the Manakamana temple using ropeway when the tremors started. All the tourists returned by cutting short the trip following the natural disaster, reached Varanasi by bus and are set to leave from Mughalsarai on Tuesday night.

The Sanghamithra Express (train number 12296 Patna-Bengaluru) train will leave 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday night and is scheduled to reach Bengaluru at 8.30 p.m. on April 30.
