Jagan seeks security for padayatra

Four days before the commencement of his scheduled padayatra, Leader of the Opposition and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday requested Director-General of Police N. Sambasiva Rao to provide Z category security cover for his walkathon.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy plans to kick-start his ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’ at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on November 6 and tour all the 13 districts in the State, covering a distance of about 3,000 km, in the next seven months,.

On behalf of Mr. Jagan, his personal secretary wrote a letter to the DGP, informing him about the padayatra schedule.

The padayatra will conclude at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district. Mr. Jagan will halt for night stay after walking for 15-16 km per day. In the letter, the DGP was informed that the route plan would be submitted to the district police by district in charges of the party.
