For the first time in the history of Republic Day celebrations, the ‘black cat’ commandos of the elite counter-terror force NSG march down Rajpath today.

The indigenously developed light combat aircraft, Tejas, set a record today.

11.35 a.m.

11.25 a.m.

Mi-35 helicopters fly at a speed of 240km/hour past Rajpath from Rashtrapati Bhavan in a Hercules formation.

Netra, the eye in the sky, an airborne early warning radar helicopter, developed by DRDO flies past Rajpath at a speed of 500km/hour.

C-17 globemaster, flanked by two Su-30 MKIs fly past at a speed of 500km/hour in a 'globe' formation.

Light combat aircraft Tejas flies past Rajpath at a speed of 780km/hour.

 

11.15 a.m.

Bravery Award winners of Bharat Award, Geeta Chopra Award, Sanjay Chopra Award, Bapu Gaidhani Award march in the parade.

Corps of Military Police turn dare devils display their skills on motorcycles.

 

11.10 a.m.

Central Board of Excise and Taxes GST, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Khadi India, Ministry of Housing and Urban poverty allevation, Ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship participate in the parade.

Tableaus of Goa, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir participate in the R-Day parade.

Delhi Police, NCC Cadet Corps, Odisha tableau, Gujarat tableau, Arunachal Pradesh's Yak Dance and Maharashtra Tableau participate in the parade.

 

10.40 a.m.

NSG contingent takes part in the parade, as President Pranab Mukherjee salutes.

10.30 a.m.

UAE contingent,  Indian Navy Tableau, Indian Air Force tableau, Mechanised Infantry Regiment, Bihar Regiment, Gorkha Rifles parade at Rajpath.

CRPF, one of the oldest paramilitary forces, march past the Rajpath.

10.20 a.m.

A military band of the UAE comprising of 35 musicians march past the Rajpath.

First contingent of 61 Cavalry led by Captain Pritam Mishra. This is the only serving active horse regiment in the world.

Akash Weapon System of 27 Air Defence (Missile) Regiment led by Captain Anendra Bansal & Lieutenant Garima.

10 a.m.

The Ashok Chakra was awarded to Havildar Hangpan Dada by President Pranab Mukherjee. He died in Kupwara on May 27 after killing three terrorists.

9.55 a.m.

The President and Prime Minister greet each other, Vice-President Hamid Ansari greets Mr. Modi.

9.45 a.m.

President Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and other Ministers arrive at Rajpath.

The chief guest UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan enters Rajpath.

8.55 a.m.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's portrait was a part of the floats in the parade in Chennai, reports Dennis S. Jesudasan.
