The Super Computing Consortium India is planning to award its first Panini Award to president of not-for-profit technology standards consortium Richard Mark Soley.

The award would be presented at an event on Internet of Things being organised by the SCCI in February 2015.

The one-day event titled Vision 2020 with The Internet of Things focuses on three basic themes — The Industrial Internet, The Smart City and The Smart Country.

After expert talks and panel discussions, the event would conclude with a round table session, general chairman of The Super Computing Consortium India Gopi Bulusu said.

The programme will feature renowned speakers from the Object Management Group, the Industrial Internet Consortium and Super Computing Consortium of India.

In view of the fact that success of companies is based on innovation and innovation has a multiplier effect the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITy) has been focusing on promoting electronic system design and manufacturing.

Innovation platforms

There is a need to create an innovation ecosystem and development of innovation platforms.

Innovation platforms capture multiple cutting edge inventions in a reusable platform that can then allow these inventions to be leveraged for pushing innovation across markets, he said. Design automation is the bedrock of innovation ecosystem and the Super Computing Consortium India has been formed as a trade body for design automation companies in the country.
