Star turtles seized

The air customs unit at the Cochin international airport has seized about 65 kg of peacock tail feathers and 29 star turtles and nabbed three Kuala Lumpur-bound passengers. The feathers were seized from two passengers, Raveendran, 64, and his 24-year-old accomplice, who had reached here to board a Malindo Airlines flight late on Tuesday.

The officials apprehended Sheikh Davood Muhammad Meeran, 52, from Chennai with 29 live star turtles on Wednesday. The passenger, who was about to board a Malaysian Airlines flight  attempted to  pass through the green channel.
