PIL seeks ban on PK

December 22, 2014 11:10 pm | Updated December 05, 2021 09:08 am IST - LUCKNOW:

Hindu Front For Justice, a Lucknow-based group working “for providing justice to Hindus,” has filed a PIL petition against Aamir Khan starrer PK demanding complete ban of the recently released movie and quashing of its certificate issued by the Censor Board for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Hindus.

In its petition, which will be heard in a Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday, the petitioners alleged that the film demeaned the Hindu religion and its gods and goddesses had been portrayed in a derogatory manner.

“The producer, the director and entire star cast of the movie have made fun of the Hindu religion by misusing the freedom of expression,” the group’s general secretary Ranjana Agnihotri told The Hindu .
