Vaishnavi Yadav, a member of the Indian team in the under-18 and 16 sections, has been drafted into the Pensacola State women’s basketball team in the USA.

A student of St. Anthony Convent at Allahabad, Vaishnavi had scored a record 71 points in a match during the National junior championship. She won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the tournament as well as the NBA Academy.

“We are very excited to have Vaishnavi join the Lady Pirate family. She will bring a wealth of experience and excitement for the upcoming season,” said Penny Belford, head coach of the Pensacola State team. Vaishnavi will get the opportunity to pursue her education along with her basketball career. “I thank Indian basketball, NBA Academy Women’s Program and coach Blair Hardiek,” said Vaishnavi.
