Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the U.S. between September 21 and September 27 during which he addressed the annual U.N. General Assembly session and had a series of bilateral and multilateral engagements in New York, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

Mr. Modi attended an Indian community event 'Howdy Modi' in Houston during the visit. Mr. Modi addressed the 74th session of the U.N. General Assembly (UNGA). As the world commemorates Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, Mr. Modi hosted a special event ‘Leadership Matters: Relevance of Gandhi in the Contemporary World’ on September 24 in the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Chamber in the U.N. Headquarters.

He received immense support outside the UN Headquarters as well.
