The process of filing nomination papers for the coming Lok Sabha polls began in Uttarakhand on Saturday with senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshiyari filing papers for the Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar Lok Sabha seat on Saturday.
Bahujan Samaj Party’s Laeeq Ahmad, who will contest against Mr. Koshiyari, also filed nomination papers.
The process of filing nomination papers in the State will take place till April 19. Congress MP from Almora (reserved) constituency Pradeep Tamta, who was re-nominated by the Congress from the constituency, also filed his papers.
