Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reviewed the progress of the preparations for the inauguration of the Kannur International Airport here, scheduled for December 9.
The Chief Minister visited the airport on Sunday to see the progress of the final preparations as the commercial operation of the airport is set to start following the inauguration. He visited the arrival and exit terminals, baggage inspection facilities, air-traffic control tower, and the CCTV control room, among others.

Mr. Vijayan was also shown the Theyyam sculpture created by Saju Thuruthil and murals by Hareendran Chalad featuring the traditional art forms of Malabar. These works were commissioned for display at the airport. Later, the Chief Minister held discussions with Kannur International Airport Ltd. (KIAL) officials on the arrangements being made for the inaugural function.

Sumesh, District Collector Mir Muhammed Ali, Inspector General of Police (North Range) Balram Kumar Upadhyaya, District Police Chief G. Siva Vikram, airport Chief Operating Officer K.P. Jose, Chief Operating Engineer Shibu Kumar, and Central Industrial Security Force Commander D.S. Daniel Dhanraj were among those present.
