A minor was raped on Kaiwara hills under Chintamani Rural police limits in Chickballapur district on Wednesday.
The police identified the suspect as Vishwanath (30), a resident of Booragamakalahalli on the outskirts of Chintamani town. He allegedly enticed the girl while she was waiting for a bus at Booragamakalahalli Cross to proceed to Chintamani for work. He offered to drop her at Chintamani on his motorbike but allegedly took her to a secluded spot on Kaiwara hills and raped her.
The incident came to light when the girl informed her parents. She underwent a medical test.
A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 was registered against Vishwanath who is absconding.
