It’s not three, but eight electric buses that have been proposed for intra-city operations in Mysuru.
H.M. Ramesh, KSRTC Divisional Controller (Mysore Urban division), said three eco-friendly electric buses had been proposed earlier under JNNURM for Mysuru. There was also a proposal to allot 20 Volvo buses under JNNURM, but, the corporation requested more electric buses since they are ‘green’ vehicles, he said. If the proposal gets the nod from the Ministry of Urban Development, eight electric buses are expected to run on Mysuru roads next year, Mr. Ramesh said.
