Convener of Manipur People Against Citizenship Bill picked up, released

Mr. Dilipkumar and his three associates were picked up during the 18-hour general strike in Manipur against this Bill.

Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, convener of the Manipur People Against Citizenship Bill, was picked up at Imphal on the Tuesday afternoon was released at 6 p.m. Police sources said that he was not arrested. Three other activists of the organisation were also taken along with him.

Media reports said that they were taken away by some Imphal west district police personnel saying that the SP of the district had something to discuss with him.

The organisation has been agitating against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. Mr. Dilipkumar and his three associates were picked up during the 18-hour general strike in Manipur against this Bill.
