There is absolutely no coordination between government departments and officials in post cyclone relief operations, a furious Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said.
The Chief Minister, speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, lashed out at the officials for poor coordination among the different government departments and lack of seriousness in providing relief to the people affected by the Sunday’s Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Hudhud.
Visakhapatnam is the financial hub of the State and there was a need for everyone to work on a war footing to restore life to normalcy in Vizag, he said, taking note of the heavy devastation inflicted on the City by the cyclone Hudhud.
Singling out the AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Ltd. for praise, he said that no other department was working in the field.
The Chief Minister also said that he would have the officials arrested and bring them to meetings if they fail to attend meetings when summoned.
He left on a tour of the City before heading to the Airport to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi and brief him on the damage inflicted by Hudhud.
