The traffic police have made temporary parking arrangements in T. Nagar in view of the heavy rush expected for Deepavali shopping.

Seven areas have been earmarked for two- and four-wheeler parking. Five spots have been assigned for autorickshaws and three schools have been identified for two-wheeler parking on holidays. Private paid-parking will be allowed in four spots.

The changes will be effective from October 26 in T. Nagar and Pondy Bazaar.

There will also be restriction on movement of vehicles. Goods vehicles will not be allowed to enter T. Nagar from 10 a.m and 10 p.m. Loading and unloading of goods can be carried out only after 10 p.m.

Autorickshaws will not be allowed on V.N. Road-Nageswararao Road junction towards Panagal Park, Brindavan junction towards Panagal Park, Muthurangan Salai towards Madley junction, Kannammapet junction towards Madley junction, Burkit Road and Dhandapani Street junction towards Madley, Coats Road and North Usman service road towards Panagal park, Rohini roundabout towards Panagal Park, North Usman Road and Maharajapuram Santhanam Salai junction towards Panagal Park, Dhandapani Street towards Usman Road service lane and South Dhandapani Street towards South Usman Road through service lane.
