Govt. to conduct free coaching classes for PG NEET

To cater to doctors in government service

The Health Department has proposed to conduct free coaching classes for PG NEET. Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar said that the coaching centre would cater specially to doctors in government service.

He was making a slew of announcements, including on new courses and training programmes for healthcare workers, nurses and doctors during the debate on health budget in the Assembly on Thursday. Primary health care doctors and nurses would be trained in managing victims of snake bite. For this, the government had set aside ₹22 lakh. The Minister said in rural areas, farmers and casual labourers required treatment for snakebites.

The Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital will soon have a separate clinic for transgender persons. The government has allocated ₹30 lakh for the purpose.

The government has set aside ₹2.34 crore to set up satellite clinics. It has been proposed to appoint more personnel under the district mental health programme to make accessible the services.
