“Please do not tell me to act,” actor Vinayakan kept reminding mediapersons as he reached his home at Kammatipadam here to meet his mother and relatives minutes after winning the best actor award.
“How can I act in real life,” he asked the lensmen waiting for a photo-op of the actor with his mother. An artiste who had always stayed away from the glare of the limelight and shied away from media attention, Vinayakan was no different on a memorable day in his acting career even though he conveyed his emotions in a few lines.
“I would like to thank my director Rajeev Ravi and producer Prem Nair. Everything seems to have fallen in the right place for me in this film,” he said. Vinayakan lost no time to respond when a mediaperson asked whether he would continue acting. “Till my death,” he said.
“From the beginning of this year, there has been a lot of support for Ganga, the character that I portrayed in Kammatipadam. I feel this award is a befitting reply to all,” Vinayakan said referring to the discussions in the social media that the actor had not received his due recognition in the Malayalam film industry.
