Visually challenged showcase their skills

The 31{+s}{+t}Annual Day of the Indian Association for the Blind (IAB), a Madurai-based non-profit organisation working for the rehabilitation of people with visual challenges, was held on Friday.

The highlight of the event was presentation of awards to Blind Empowerment Champions by Mridula Ramesh, Joint Managing Director, Southern Roadways, and Subbaraman Ramasubramanyan, Madurai Centre Head, HCL Technologies.

Prizes were also distributed to students of the IAB Higher Secondary School for academic proficiency.

C. Ramasubramaniam, president, IAB, presided over the programme. Abdul Raheem, vice-president, welcomed the gathering.
