Following a petty argument, four men shoved a beer bottle into the private parts of a minor boy and paraded him naked in his locality after brutally assaulting him in South-West Delhi’s Inderpuri earlier this week.
A video capturing the brutality, allegedly filmed and released on social media by the accused men, has also surfaced. It shows the boy crying and pleading with the accused to let him go.
The four men have been arrested and sent to Tihar after being produced at a court. They have been identified as Sumit, Aman, Raju and Shankar, all residents of the same JJ colony where the accused resides.
Police said that the incident happened four days back in JJ Colony of Inderpuri, however, the matter was reported on Wednesday. Talking to the media on Thursday, the boy said that he was sitting on a parked scooty when four men came and asked him why was he sitting there.
“Even before I could answer, they started bashing me up. They tied me up and started kicking me. They then stripped me naked and continued the assault. They proceeded to pick up a beer bottle and insert it into me even as I remained helpless and pleaded with them to let me go,” said the 16-year-old victim.
The boy also alleged that the accused had stuffed chilly powder into his private part.
Sexual assault alleged
His mother too made similar allegations and alleged that he was sexually assaulted by the four people of the same locality and he was also stripped naked and paraded in the lanes. She went on to say that the boy even attempted suicide.
Despite the claims made by the boy and the video going public, the police did not apply provisions pertaining to unnatural sex in the case.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Surender Kumar said that according to footage available with them, there was no evidence of any sexual assault nor had the boy made any such claims in his statement provided to the police.
“In the medical examination there is no history of sexual assault. In the video too there is no evidence of the minor being stripped naked. However, it seems that the minor was bullied and paraded and we have arrested four people,” said Mr. Kumar.
A case under sections 323(Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 342(Punishment for wrongful confinement), 34(common intention) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Inder Puri police station.
